The Washington State Reporter television series covered industries, agriculture, trade, recreation and occasional human interest stories throughout the state. Most episodes are 12 minutes long; with commercials this brought the program time to 15 minutes, a normal time slot for television in the early 1950s. The shows on Alaska emphasize fishing, mining and agriculture, and include visits to military bases in that state. The Far East series features programs on Hawaii (pre-statehood), Japan, Hong Kong, Manila, and Singapore.
